In the Ukrainian South a bunch of men wander in search of scrap metal. This time they found an exceptionally large prey. Armed with a rope, a ladder and a torch-cutter they dive into the fight.
""Heavy Metal" to a large extent is rooted in two very famous books - "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond and "The Songlines" by Bruce Chatwin. It feels safer of course, when you say your own work is inspired by classics - it's like sharing the responsibility. But such is the truth: these books made me think about nomads, hunter-gatherers and people of deserts. I watched my folk - men - a lot. I grew to like how funny, how clumsy and stubborn we are. And that's what the film is about: clumsy and stubborn men trying to bring down a mammoth. I enjoyed making it, I hope you'll enjoy watching it. And please don't take it too seriously."
