Motorcity follows the local amateur drag car racing scene in Detroit. Over a period of two years, the camera observes John Quick, Carter & Son Racing and Karri Anne Beebe, “the fastest woman in Michigan”, on their all-consuming individual quest for a few tenths of a second. Through the frame of this high octane sport, Motorcity questions the rise and fall of Detroit itself.
