Macias had 17 children and created a forest in a mountain. It was his wish that the urn with his remains was buried under a little cedar tree, so that when it grows, the roots would embrace the urn. This film depicts and accompanies his youngest children in their visits to the small tree.
"This is a movie about my connection with the trees and about revealing a family. I never had a relationship with my maternal grandfather and I met him just a few times in my life, however his work in landscaping and ornamentation always accompanies me. It´s present like a personal trait. A family as numerous as it is complex, and a very early close contact with nature have been the motives for this film. My grandfather died a few years ago, and the event caused an unprecedented reunion of relatives that I hadn't seen in a long time. I was able to get to know more of his other family, the family he formed with his second wife. I became close with his younger children and I found very similar traits. That day of parting in his forest El Silencio I felt the need of start filming them." Mariano Luque
