After the closure of the high school and the fish farm, all the men and teenagers have to leave the tiny island of Out Skerries to go to the Mainland, leaving the women by themselves with the younger children.
Julie Powis Arthur is one of those women. First she saw her husband leave and now both her sons are going as well. She's staying with her little one, taking care of the house and waiting for her men to come back at the end of the week. But how are you supposed to be a family when the house is empty and everyone is away?
Dir. Victor Ridley - 29 mins - 2019 - UK / Belgium - Language: English
"Through the specific story of Out Skerries, I wanted to tell and show the story of small communities dying and ending because of capitalism... I wanted to show the human impact of decisions taken by big industries or even by the government. The impact on all the families living in those communities." Victor Ridley.
