Discover the sumptuous nonfiction films from one of Portugal's most innovative production houses, TERRATREME, in our True Story partner collection.
Taking their name from the classic Italian drama by Visconti, La Terra Trema - in which a group of fishermen unite to buy a boat and gain independence from the ship-owning bosses — TERRATREME was founded in 2008 by a group of filmmakers who demanded a greater degree of freedom and autonomy in the production process.
Starting their own production unit in Lisbon, the TERRATREME collective wrote their own rules for producing work, pooling the resources of their members to create these astounding films.
